Westport Business Consulting is a small black empowerment consultancy that was established in 2006.
The foundation of Westport Business Consulting is based on a gap in the market that was identified by the owner of the business. The owner, Donovan Stevens, has been involved in small business development for the past 8 years, and has been giving advice on starting, expanding and sustaining businesses.
The company had, since its inception, registered over 200 small businesses, either as Close Corporations, PTY Ltd’s or Sole Proprietors. It has also assisted with the establishment and registration of Co-operatives.
The main focus of Westport Business Consulting is to ascertain whether a business idea is viable, and this can only be established once an assessment of the business idea and the client have been made. Part of our functions is to ensure that we assist with the establishment of sustainable businesses that would make a positive contribution to the South African economy, and by creating employment at the same time.
Westport Business Consulting do not work on business plan templates, but structure the business according to the individual business need. The same approach is used for all services rendered by Westport Business Consulting, as the staff understands the importance of business sustainability, whether it be access to finance, mentoring, compliance issues or just mere advice. After an assessment, we promise to make our honest recommendations to the client.

Aim:
We provide business advice and assistance to entrepreneurs (SMME’s), from the any walk of life, whether it be start-up or existing. We also represent SMME’s from the disadvantage communities, as this group represents the sector of the community which has the greatest need for economic development and assistance with formulating sound business proposals and accessing finance for start up businesses.
Westport Business Consulting will thus assist entrepreneurs (people from the community), who have a business idea and which they wish to establish and pursue.
