Vincent Carruthers is co-authoring a new field guide to the frogs of southern Africa with Professor Louis du Preez of the North West University.

The book will be a major work with more than a thousand illustrations, completely updated nomenclature and a new approach to frog identification. It is published by Struik and is expected to be in bookshops by mid 2009.

The popularity of The Magaliesberg, by Vincent Carruthers has proved to be remarkably durable.

First published in 1990, the book is in need of considerable revision.

Terrance (Spike) McCarthy, co-author of the recent publication Earth and Life , has given invaluable input to the geology section and Mandy Esterhuysen of Wits Archaeology Department has helped rewrite the pre-history.

The revised edition will again be published by Protea Book House, 1067 Burnett Street, Arcadia, Pretoria.

We assist with the development of feasibility studies, business plans and marketing strategies for nature-based tourism operations such as game lodges and holiday resorts. In addition to business planning, we emphasis environmental sensitivity and adherence to the Code of Responsible Tourism.

Assessments are conducted on proposed development sites in terms of the National Heritage Resources Act and reports are submitted to the South African Heritage Resources Authority.
