Description about Under Oaks Wines
Under Oaks is a hands-on family business situated in the beautiful Paarl Valley only about 45 minutes from Cape Town. Under Oaks is a boutique style winery producing only small quantities of premium wine.
Under Oaks was established in 2003 and ever since purchasing the farm, owners Hans and Theresa Britz, have been putting a lot of time and effort into restoring the farm to its original beauty.
In December 2006 Under Oaks opened its doors to the public. We restored the old wine cellar on the farm and converted it into a small tasting room. Here the public are welcome to taste all four of our wines. The wines we currently have available are Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, and Unwooded Chardonnay.
We also converted part of the cellar into a small bistro where visitors can come relax and enjoy breakfast or lunch. We removed the old cement vats used to make the wine and converted that into the inside area of the bistro. We left the marks on the wall to give the bistro a rustic feeling. You can also sit outside under majestic old oak trees. The bistro has a beautiful view over a grass plain, dam and the Wellington Mountains.
Under Oaks is also home to a small art gallery. We display the work of a variety of South African artists.
