Self catering accommodation [Friday, November 19, 2010]

There is only 1 unit on the premises so a private and secure experience is guaranteed. Please note that accommodation is a maximum of 2 guests.

Accommodation offered is in a thach, 1 bedroom cottage.French doors open from the sun drenched lounge onto a semi covered patio and garden. There is a TV with 3 SABC and ETV Channels, a DVD player is available should you wish to bring along alternative viewing material. For further viewing entertainment there is a satelite dish for Top TV, just bring your decoder and plug it in.

A queen-size bed, with linen, offers a comfy night’s sleep. The bedroom is open plan to the lounge. A heater and blanket are provided for those crisp winter nights and there is a ceiling fan to cool you down in summer.

Take a luxurious bubble bath in the corner bath. Or, if you prefer, there is a shower. The bathroom is on suite and also has a vanity and toilet. Please bring your own towels as these are not supplied.

A fully equipped kitchen offers all the necessary appliances to make your self catering stay enjoyable and include: fridge/freezer, 4 plate hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, pots & pans, cutlery & crockery. 

What better way to cool off on those hot summer days than to just laze around in the refreshing splash pool.

To enjoy outdoor living at its best, the cottage has its own braai/barbecue area complete with a braai grid. Braai wood is available. Linger around the fire after your dinner and enjoy the unforgettable night sky and sounds of the bush

Self catering, short term accommodation offered at The Farm House Hartebeestfontein [Sunday, February 07, 2010]

Secure and private accommodation in country setting. The cottage is on a smallholding in the Hartebeestfontein Conservancy, which is on the buffer zone of The Cradle of Humankind. Accommodation is for 2. The Lounge is open plan to the bedroom and has a 2 seater sofa and arm chair. The bed is queen-size and linen is provided. The bathroom has a corner bath, shower, basin and toilet. And the kitchen is fully equipped with all pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, has a fridge/freezer, microwave and a 4-plate hob. The garden is fenced which adds to the privacy and to cool off from the heat of the day there is a splash pool.  The cottage is serviced daily and if you  let know what time you wish to Braai (bbq) he will have the fire ready for you.

The majestic are to the west and offer good hiking, climbing and abseiling. The cottage is situated on the Magalies Meander so there are loads of interesting places to visit and things to do – to name but a few :- Sterkfontein Caves where the skull of Mrs. Ples was found; Maropeng a museum listing the evolution of man; Hot Air Ballooning, Horse riding, Micro lighting are all within a stone throw. Shop up a storm for African curios at the craft market situated near Hartebeestpoort Dam or visit the , Aquarium, Monkey and Elephant Sanctuary. Go game viewing and see the big 5 in Pilanesburg, which is set in an extinct volcano, visit and try your luck in the casinos or just have a lazy day in the valley of waves. These are just a few of the activities on offer in and around our holiday home.
