Description about THE TAXPAYER

The Taxpayer is a South African niche publishing house specialised in the field of taxation.

Our ethos is to publish works that provide readers with knowledge and understanding rather than information, and with ideas rather than facts.

Our publications:

The Taxpayer, since 1952 South Africa’s oldest tax journal, published monthly, and edited by four practitioners who are all active in the field of tax law:

Meyerowitz on Income Tax, since 1962 a leading commentary on income tax, subscribers to which receive the consolidated Income Tax Act annotated with references to the commentary and all Double Taxation Agreements.

Meyerowitz on VAT, since 1991 a leading commentary on value-added tax, including the consolidated Value-Added Tax Act and Rulings.

Income Tax Cases & Materials by Emslie and Davis, since 1994 South Africa's leading sourcebook of income tax cases.
