Description about SEWAFRICA

SEWAFRICA is based the the Heart of the Johannesburg Fashion District. It occupies a six storey building that caters for all fashion design needs. The SEWAFRICA Training centre offers full time and part time courses in Fashion Design, Dressmaking and Pattern Making. A three year Diploma is also available. Centre is Accreditted with CTFL Seta, City and Guilds London, Registered with Department of Labour, Department of Education (number pending) and Umalusi.

SEWAFRICA also offers design studios for emerging designers starting out in the world of fashion design to have a space to work and meet clients.

Full Time GET Certificate in Clothing F P & M SETA Learners with Learning Difficulties [Monday, September 19, 2011]

 

2011 saw the introduction of a new course for learners with learning difficulties. Learners from Remedial and LSN Schools who have completed their schooling have an opportunity to continue their studies in clothing through an accredited F P & M SETA Qualification General Education and Training Certificate: Clothing Manufacturing Process. Besides the clothing component learners are also taught entrepreneurship, personal finances, administration, time management, production, customer requirements, costing garments, first aid – a very good all round qualification for a learner with no workplace experience.

Full time fashion design course run in Johannesburgs Fashion District. Diploma course runs over three years. City and Guilds Accreditted. Course starts in February 2012, registration starts in October 2011.

 Do you know how to sew and want to make your own patterns. Join the Part Time Pattern Making Course and learn to draft and manipulate your own patterns. Course starts in Jan 2012 and runs for 30 Staurdays 9h00 - 13h00.

Part Time Dressmaking Course [Monday, September 19, 2011]

Course starts 1 October 2011 and runs for 3 Saturadys 9h00 - 13h00. Learn the basics of using a sewing machine and basic sewing skills. Then follow up with one of the follow up courses and learn to sew skirts, shirts, trousers and jackets.
