OUR MISSION:
· To present courses in the Building Industry fields, namely Plumbing, Plaster, bricklaying and painting.
· To offer quality training and accommodation to students at affordable prices.
· To prepare students for their Trade Tests by offering them exposure to the relevant tasks that may be given to them during their Trade Test, by giving them the opportunity to in similar conditions, and train them in the finer details which is critical for passing their exams. Their work is being assessed by experienced Trade Test Officers that previously worked at Indlela Olifantsfontein.
To standardize the level of skills in the Building Industry through the implementation on innovative, unique training programs.
· Plumbing Specific Models Training as required by the Candidate - Minimum 1 week
· Plasterer Specific Models Training as required by the Candidate - Minimum 1 Week
· Bricklaying Specific Modules Training as required by the Candidate - Minimum 1 Week
· Painter Specific Models Training as required by the Candidate - Minimum 1 Week
· Pre-Trade Test Course for Painters – 3 weeks
· Pre-Trade Test Course for Plasterers - 3 weeks
· Pre-Trade Test Course for Bricklayers - 3 weeks
· DIY courses for Plumbing, Painters, Plasterers, Bricklayers. -
1 day (weekend) depending on demand
INSTRUCTORS
All Instructors appointed at Olifantsfontein Building Training are hand picked for their qualifications and expertise in each of the given fields. Many have been working as Trade Test Officers, and were involved as Trainers at National Training establishments.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates, who are due to do their Trade Tests, will have to proof that they have successfully passed the Screening Examinations at Indlela. Proof of at least 4 years relevant experience will be essential.
FACILITIES:
OLIFANTSFONTEIN BUILDING TRAINING is based on a 4 Hct plot in Ouklipmuur, Willow Park, East of Pretoria.
- Accommodation
There is accommodation available for 10 students. A minimal additional charge for accommodation will be payable by the students that require this facility.
- Catering Facilities
Candidates who stay at the college during their training will be served with a breakfast in the mornings. The property is in walking distance from self-catering stores and restaurants. Students will be served tea and coffee during the day.
