Description about Midlands Arts & Crafts Society (MACS)
Midlands Arts & Crafts Society, also known as MACS, celebrated 25 years in Pietermaritzburg this year. Our main aims are to offer workshops and classes in the arts and many of our popular classes include wet feltmaking, papermaking, creative machine and hand embroidery, drawing, painting, beading, making mandalas, "playing with clay", wild knitting, spinning. MACS also has many nationally and internationally acclaimed fibre artists amongst its members and these members offer their knowledge and expertise to students on a regular basis. MACS also has a craft shop full of handmade items in felt, yarns and beads as well as supplying beads, findings and tools, handdyed yarn and handspun yarns and recycled sari silk yarn.
