The around Somerset West is one of the exceptional and most varied area in the world !! Mediterranean climate, wonderful summer with minimum on rainfall.

A fresh sea breeze makes hot summer days with over 30 degrees comfortable.

Even on sunny winter days the temperature rises up to over 20 degrees.

The region is malaria free.

Through out the whole year the nature shows all the abundance of colour and perfection. Especially from September to October the spring flowers seem to explode in a firework of colour.

There are many botanical gardens, nature reserves with hundreds of different Erica and Protea, with lots of bird viewing.

During the month of August until October the costal region around the is home of the whales. On different places it is possible to view - very close - the mothers with new born whale babies.
