This year, don’t go for the aged trinkets that have become dusty and misshapen in the packing box, take a trip down to Nest Decor and Gift store in the Irene Dairy Shop to kit your house out with heartwarming decorations that’ll put you in the festive spirit for the rest of the year!

The new range of decorations that has arrived on the Nest shelves is artistic, intricate and oh-so-seasonal. Whether you’re looking to update your own Christmas trimmings, distract your child’s seasonal excitement with something pretty and sparkly, or find some festive gifts for family and friends, Nest has the answer.

There are four choices of venue for couples looking to hold their wedding at the Irene Farm. The first is called The Bales, and is our newest addition to the Farm’s unique setup. The Bales ceremony venue is a converted 120 year-old red brick farm barn seats 80 people with ease and gives you the room to decorate your day in almost any way you can dream of. The Bales is a private venue and off-limits to other farm visitors.

 

The Lawn Enclosure is our other ceremony venue. As this venue is outside, it is not as private as The Bales, but can seat 100 people and can also be decorated in almost any style.

 

The Farm also has two reception venues. The Barn Function venue is inside, private, and keeps with the classic venue style of the Irene Farm. This inside venue seats 80 people in a banquet style while still leaving space for superb decorations and arrangements.

 

The Barn Restaurant is also available for wedding receptions, however this is also not a fully private venue. This outside venue has even more space for you to drape it and your guests in beauty and good memories on your special day. Both reception venues enjoy the same top-class food from The Barn Restaurant, with a variety of different buffet options available.

 

While the Irene Farm has only recently started hosting wedding receptions, it’s got to be one of the oldest venues around. The two farm barns that hold The Bales ceremony venue and The Barn Function venue are both 120 year-old historic buildings and their classic look has become an iconic picture on the Centurion landscape.

 

Our farm yard is a vibrant and ever-changing environment, overflowing with charm. Come and admire our lush green fields  and bursting buds in springtime, visit the baby calves or marvel at the ancient avenue of old oak trees in the winter – you never know what you’ll find!

 

The Farm does not do the ceremony or reception setup themselves, but in conjunction with the Irene Lodge, we have a long history of arranging and hosting dream weddings. This means that we can recommend and refer clients to specialist planners who will drape, design or theme their wedding in any style possible.

 

The Irene Farm offers visitors convenience and beauty in one setting. We are nestled between the sprawling cities of Joburg and Pretoria and only a 25 minute drive from OR Tambo Airport, and yet the farm still manages to effectively retain its country charm, making visitors feel like they’re getting away from it all, without actually having to get away.

 

Started in 1889, the Irene Farm has been run by the van der Byl family for five generations. Today, it retains much of the storybook charm it had when it was first started.Aside from these wedding venues, the Irene Farm also has a Dairy Shop, an unparalleled fresh food store that sells milk and cream produced right on the Farm, a decor and gift store - Nest, and a second restaurant - The Deck.

 

Visitors who are looking for accommodation in the area, or wish to continue their party past the 6pm closing time of the Irene Farm, can simply move across the road to the Irene Country Lodge, where we will be happy to continue hosting guests on the same tab they had at the Irene Farm.

Moving outside the ceremony, the Irene Farm also holds ample space for you to design and create your perfect daytime wedding reception scenario, inside or outside (the farm closes at 6pm).

Looking for somewhere a little different for your year end function?
Then why not try the Barn Restaurant at Irene Farm.
From the 15th November till 15th December (except Sat & Sun) we will have a Christmas-themed lunch buffet at R159.95 per person including crackers and hats, fresh fruit juice and a glass of sparkling wine.

~ Traditional Greek Salad with cucumbers, peppers, onions, tomatoes, black olives and feta cheese with a home made salad dressing and balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
~ Potato and egg salad, bound with home-made mayonnaise and fresh herbs.
