Description about Algoa Sea Scouts
In the Algoa Sea Scout group, youngsters spend most of the summer months on the water. Beside the traditional Scout activities like camping and hiking, the Algoa Sea Scout group has a variety of crafts to teach young people to sail and canoe. Our fleet consists of 5 pelicans, a mirror and a stowaway and we have the use of 5 hobie 14's. We also have 9 scout canoes and the use of 5 sea kayaks. Scouts go out on the various rivers in our vicinity (Swartkops, Sundays, Gamtoos) and sail in the harbour and on the North End lake (before the construction of the 2010 stadium).
In 2009 Algoa Sea Scout group celebrates their 80th anniversary!
